Threaded Shafts

Click the threaded shaft point object from the Machine Components tool set to insert a threaded shaft.

 

 

Parameter	Description
Outside Diameter	Enter the threaded shaft outside diameter
Thread Pitch	Specify the thread pitch
Included Angle	Specify the included angle
Thread Length	Enter the length of the threads only
Flatness (0.0 – 0.5)	Enter the flatness value
Shoulder	Select to include a shoulder on the threaded shaft
Length	Indicate the shoulder length
Type	Select the shoulder type, or select None to enter the shoulder diameter and fillet radius manually
Diameter	For None shoulder types, enter the shoulder diameter
Fillet Radius	For None shoulder types, enter the shoulder fillet radius
Thread End	Select flat or chamfered
Chamfer Size	For chamfered bottom types, enter the size of the chamfer; enter 0 for no chamfer
Chamfer Angle	For chamfered bottom types, enter the chamfer angle
Show Outline Only	Select to show only the 2D threaded shaft outline
Show Center Line	Select to draw the 2D threaded shaft with center line(s)
Show Threads	Select to create the 3D threaded shaft with threads (best detail)
Left Hand Threads	Select to begin the threads on the left side

For ASME general purpose Acme threads, enter a flatness value of 0.37 and included angle of 29o.
